<\/p>\nChristians when challenged with trials, tribulations, broken hearts, or tragic events are usually told by well meaning friends to:<\/p>\n
Have faith<\/p>\n
Be strong<\/p>\n
Pray<\/p>\n
Fast<\/p>\n
Trust<\/p>\n
Obey<\/p>\n
The list goes on, and on.<\/p>\n
It is not acceptable to cry, question, show fear, or to agonize about anything.<\/p>\n
Why? \u00a0Because if you have faith and trust God, you shouldn\u2019t have human emotions.<\/p>\n
As a Christian, you must remain strong.<\/p>\n
Crying and questioning the situation God has put you in only shows your lack of faith.<\/p>\n
Perhaps, because of your sin of weakness, God is punishing you.<\/p>\n
He won\u2019t be able to help you.<\/p>\n
You need to get right with God. \u00a0Now.\u00a0 Get on your knees and repent.<\/p>\n
So, during the lowest point in your life, there is always the well-meaning, hyper-spiritual Christian friend who will pray for you.\u00a0 But instead of strengthening you, or bringing you peace, their prayers only pile on accusation and condemnation, resulting in more negative emotions, specifically guilt.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
These Christians are no different than Job\u2019s three friends. \u00a0Their words only added to Job\u2019s suffering.\u00a0 After losing all his children and property, while seating in an ash pile and scraping his festering boils with a piece of broken pottery, Job\u2019s friends used their spirituality to accuse, and judge.<\/p>\n
Are you going through a very difficult trial? \u00a0Is your pain unbearable? \u00a0Are the very people who should be ministering to you, causing you even more torture?<\/p>\n
Stop. \u00a0Take a deep breath. \u00a0Find a quiet place and read in God\u2019s Word what happened to Jesus when He faced unbearable situations.<\/p>\n
When Jesus arrived at Lazarus\u2019 tomb, even knowing that He would resurrect His friend, what did He do?<\/p>\n
He wept.\u00a0 John 11:35<\/p>\n
When he beheld Jerusalem, the very place where he would be crucified, what was His reaction?<\/p>\n
He wept over it. Luke 19:41<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
What did Jesus Christ say to His disciples before His crucifixion?<\/p>\n
\u201cMy soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.\u201d Matthew 26:38<\/p>\n
What was His prayer like?<\/p>\n
\u201cMy Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass me by.\u00a0 Nevertheless, let it be as You, not I, would have it.\u201d Matthew 26:42<\/p>\n
What was Jesus Christ\u2019s physiological response to the stress of His approaching torture and death on the cross?<\/p>\n
Being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. \u00a0Luke 22:44<\/p>\n
Yes, Jesus Christ, our God Almighty, who came in the flesh to save us, experienced sadness, pain, anguish just as we do when facing difficulties. \u00a0Did He lack faith? \u00a0Did He sin when expressing human emotions? \u00a0No. And neither do we lack faith or are sinning when we express our grief.<\/p>\n
God counts all our tears.\u00a0 He records our lamentations in His Book.\u00a0 Psalm 56:8<\/p>\n
When accused of weakness, or having lack of faith when you experience grief, remember that, \u201cIn the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. \u00a0We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.\u201d Romans 8:26<\/p>\n
Most importantly, while enduring trials and tribulations here on earth, be assured that when we meet our Father in heaven, \u201cHe will wipe every tear from our eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho then is the one who condemns? \u00a0No one. \u00a0Christ Jesus who died, more than that\u2014who was raised to life\u2014is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.\u201d Romans 8:34<\/p>\n
