The word \u201csaved\u201d means delivered. Jesus came to deliver us from our fallen state, from the sin of our past, from the state of separation from God, and from the control of the lower nature. The human spirit is saved or regenerated only through the experience of being washed in the blood of Jesus and born again. Only through this rebirth of the inner man can a worshiper contact the true and living God, for only then does the Spirit of God dwell within. No other religion or mode of spirituality can provide this restoration and wholeness to those who are seeking.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his first main sermon, Jesus gave a clear command, \u201cWhen you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words\u201d (Matthew 6:7). Repeating the same phrase in a monotone voice hundreds of times would certainly not be an acceptable way to try and communicate to fellow human beings. If we attempted to do so, they would surely depart from us as quickly as possible. Why do we think God, who is far more intelligent, would be please with such methods. Prayer is not that mystical or mechanical; it is real and relational. Talk to Jesus like He is the best friend you have, because\u2014He is.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are eight primary signs of a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. They include: forsaking all sin, worldliness, and false religious practices to serve the true God, taking up your cross daily and following Jesus (living a sacrificial, selfless, and prayerful life), continuing in God\u2019s Word (applying all biblical truth to your life), and bearing much fruit for the Father\u2019s glory.<\/span><\/p>\n
