We complain. 

We grumble and whine.  

We are easily offended.

Failures are blamed on others.  

Discontentment about everything is the norm. 

Instead of accountability, we feel entitled.

The Word of God warns us about the negative consequences of complaining and ungratefulness. 

God wants us to always be thankful and to trust Him, no matter the circumstances.

James 1:17:  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Romans 15:5:  May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.

Ephesians 4:29:  Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

James 5:9:  Don’t grumble against one another, brothers, and sisters, or you will be judged.

Hebrews 12:15:  See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Colossians 4:5:  Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

Matthew 6:33:  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Colossians 4:1:  Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

1 Timothy 6:6-8:  But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.  

1 Timothy 2:8:  Therefore, I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
