A slight, an insult, a scorn, disdain, or snub from a friend is destructive.

Broken trust is painful.

Betrayal, devastating.

God teaches us to love others, serve one another, and put others before ourselves.

But we all fall short.

We are all imperfect.

Only God can understand our deepest pains.

He will always be there.

He is loyal.

He never lies, and He will never reject us.

He teaches us to choose our friends wisely.

Proverbs 13:20:  Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Psalm 146:3, 6:  Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.  He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—he remains faithful forever.

Proverbs 12:26:  The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Ephesians 5:6-7:  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.  Therefore, do not be partners with them.

Proverbs 18:24:  One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

1 Corinthians 15:33:  Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Psalm 41:9:  Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.

Proverbs 16:28:  A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.

Proverbs 27:5-6:  Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

1 Peter 2:1:  Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

Philippians 2:3:  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.  Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

John 15:13:  There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Proverbs 27:17:  As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

John 15:12-15:  My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
