Negative thoughts keeps us imprisoned from accomplishing God’s perfect plans for our lives—

Negative thoughts are toxic:  I can’t do it. I’m afraid. I’m tired. I don’t have what it takes. I don’t have enough time. I am weak and untrustworthy with my schedule and commitments.

Negative thoughts are lies:  I’m too busy. Time just slips away. I’m not good enough. I’m discouraged. I’m trapped in a jail of despair.

God’s Word teaches that we are not victims of our thoughts—

Psalm 52:8:  But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

Philippians 4:13:  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Psalm 118:6:  The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Isaiah 40:31:  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Psalm 31:15:  My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.

2 Corinthians 12:9:  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

2 Samuel 7:28:  For you are God, O Sovereign LORD. Your words are truth, and you have promised these good things to your servant.

Psalm 31:14:  But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.”

Proverbs 16:3:  Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Psalm 37:5:  Commit everything you do to the LORD . Trust him, and he will help you.

1 Corinthians 15:49:  So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

Proverbs 3:6:  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Deuteronomy 31:6:  Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Romans 12:2:  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
